The WAVcam was designed with the wide area surveillance problem in mind. Three key features allow the WAVcam to provide both wide area detection and target identification and tracking.

1. Simultaneously achieves wide area coverage and high spatial resolution with about a one second revisit time. This features provides the proper balance between temporal and spatial coverage to meet the application, resulting in efficient data and sensor suite management.
2. Automatic change detection (CD) over a wide area alerts users to suspicious activity. The automated CD is facilitated by the WAVcam's built-in, precision scanning that enables the camera FOV and background scene to remain fixed.
3. "On-Demand" viewing provides users instant access to any part of the WAV across the entire wide FOV. Any portion of the WAV can be viewed either in a control center environment, or in the field on a laptop or handheld device. DEMO
