Border and Port Security
A single WAVcam acts as a Wedge of Persistent Surveillance over a 90°
FOV as shown in the figure to the left. The wide area coverage, automatic
change detection, and On-Demand viewer will greatly improve
surveillance capabilities.
The WAVcam fits in nicely with a border or port security strategy to
place surveillance sensors on an array of towers spaced several miles
apart. As shown to the left, an array of WAVcams spaced five miles apart
provides complete coverage of targets located at a standoff distance of
three miles away. With this design, there is a 20% (~1 mile) overlap
in coverage between WAVcams. An array of WAVcams is a cost-effective
way to monitor extended areas.
